And the Winners Are...

Oh, WOW! I got a lot of really good pictures. It was SO hard to choose my favorites, and in the end I thought everybody deserved first place...however, I knew you wouldn't really want me to give everybody first place, so I did choose a winner.

After a long and hard struggle, I decided to give first place to Bethany R. Her picture of the Grand Tetons in Wyoming is absolutely stunning! Great job, and congratulations, Bethany! I loved your pictures!

First Place

Second Place is awarded to Faith Potts with this beautiful snow scene. It really took my breath away when I saw it. Well done Faith, and congratulations! :)

Second Place

Third place goes to Jesseca Dawn and her gorgeous picture of a lightning bolt during a storm. This photo really sent shivers up and down my spine. What a wonderful picture, Jesseca! Congratulations!

Third Place
And last, but DEFINITLY not least, honorable mention is awarded to Blessings Counter for her picture of trees in front of a blue sky. It is so pretty, and like I said before, it was hard to put your picture last Blessings Counter, I really loved it.

Honorable Mention

So, there are the pictures I chose. I loved them all, and I want to thank you all who gave me your pictures. I'll be posting the next Photo Contest...probably early next week. Come back with more pictures! I can't wait to see them! :)

Photo Contest #1: Majestic

Alrighty...as promised, here is the contest post! :) As a refresher, I'll post the rules:

1: I'll post a word and an example picture.
2: You'll then come up with a picture of your own (not from the internet, you'll have to take it yourself) that you think represents the word best.
3: You'll send them to my e-mail: 4rmeddy@excite.com
4: I'll choose my top three favorites and an honorable mention and post them on my blog.

The word is... *drum roll*...: Majestic

I didn't have a super good example picture...but hopefully it will suffice. :)

Now it's your turn! Again, my picture is only an example...don't feel obligated to get a picture of a mountain... Anything around your area that gives you a  sense of awe is fine. :)
Try to get the picture to me by next Wednesday. I'll judge them all then and post the top four on my blog Thursday or Friday depending on how busy I am those days. :)

Photo Shoot

We had a beautiful sunny day.

So happy that Spring is here! :)

Beautiful flowers...

The beginnings of an apple.

One of my favorite photos

I love the cheerful color of these flowers. It's like they're always smiling. :)

Mess around enough on editing and you can make the sky turn pink. :P
I had a little too much fun photographing flowers in our family's yard, and while I edited them on the computer, a thought popped into my mind: Hey, this is fun! I should make a blog post with these! And then, another: Wouldn't it be fun to make a competition of sorts with other pictures and invite my followers to participate?
Let me jot down the rules real quick:

1: I'll post a word and an example picture.
2: You'll then come up with a picture of your own (not from the internet, you'll have to take it yourself) that you think represents the word best.
3: You'll send them to my e-mail: 4rmeddy@excite.com
4: I'll choose my top three favorites and an honorable mention and post them on my blog.

So...what do you think? Does this sound like a fun idea? Let me know if you would be willing to participate in a comment. Also, if you have any questions.

I hope you enjoyed my pictures!

Q&A Session w/ Me! :)

Jesseca Dawn gave me these questions in her Liebester Award post, so I'm going to answer them as well, simply because I enjoy answering questions and hopefully y'all will enjoy reading my quirky answers. ;P So, here you go:

1. What type of books do you like reading the most? (i.e fiction, non-fiction)
I read fiction more...but I enjoy reading both. Though, that reminds me...I really ought to get some NON-fiction read during this summer...

2. Do you enjoy writing? If so, what do you like to write about?
Umm...YES!!!! I write about pretty much everything, but all my stories involve either siblings or friends saving something from something. More or less. :P I do like writing about girls and their horses... (surprise) :)

3. You've suddenly been transported back in time.  Where do you choose to go?
It'd be really neat to meet Jesus...but I'd also enjoy going back the medieval times and meet real knights and princesses... :)

4. What is your favorite kind of weather?
SUNSHINE!!! Not too hot, but sunshine none the less.

5. What is your favorite chore?
This is gonna sound a little weird, but my favorite chore is washing dishes... I know, I'm a bit odd that way. :P

6. If you could go back in history and change something, what would it be?
I'd want to keep our nation from going away from its Christian Heritage.

7. Someone just handed you a plane ticket to wherever you've been longing to go. Where are you going?
The British Isles! (aka: Scotland, Ireland, and England)

8. What is your favorite Bible verse?
Can I have more than one favorite verse? Job 39:19-25 is my favorite passage. Look it up and you'll see why. :)

9. You're scheduled to speak before a large crowd. What are you speaking about?
Horses in the Bible! I've even already got notes on that one! :P

10. You're handed a piece of sheet music, given a piano and asked to play without any practice. What do you do?
Let everyone know that I'm terrible at sight-reading, then do the best I can. Probably by plunking out the main melody or doing just the right hand.
11. Jeans or skirts?
It all depends on the occasion. If I'm going somewhere where I want to look my best, I'll wear a skirt, but if I'm planning on doing some activity where a skirt would be inappropriate, I'd wear jeans. I feel a lot more comfortable in skirts, and I wear skirts a lot more than jeans...but there are times when wearing a skirt is even immodest!
Occasion calls for skirt. :)
So...there you have it. Hope you enjoyed reading my answers! :D

The Liebester Award...Take Two

Thank you to Calamity Rene...or actually, I should say, Emily McConnell of The Imaginary World of Emily McConnell (and the real one too). My blog must be popular...or maybe it's just "what goes around, comes around"... well anyways, here's the rules, and I hope you enjoy reading my post! :)

The rules:
1. Link back to the blogger that nominated you
2. Answer the 11 new questions
3. Nominate other bloggers (however many or few as you'd like)
4. Create 11 new questions
5. Notify the new nominees of their award

1: You have one day to live. What are you going to do that day?
Say goodbye to all my friends and family, pray, make a will, and prepare myself for going to see Jesus!

2: You discover that you accidently brought all of your book characters from a book you’ve written/all the characters from your favorite book you’ve read, to life. Is this a good thing or a bad thing?
I'd love to have that happen! Granted, the bad guys would make life interesting...but hey, when you write/read a book, the good guys always win anyways right, so what's the worry, right? :P So, the answer to the question is yes, it would be a good thing. :)

3: Cherries or peaches?
Cherries. Without any hesitation.

4:If Jesus came back tonight, would you be ready for Him?
ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!

5: What is your favorite Christian non-fiction book (besides the Bible)?
Probably a tie between "The Hiding Place" and "If I Perish". Both wonderful reads, although sad in parts...

6: Biographies or instruction books?
Biographies. Hands down. Actually, I take part of that back. If it's an instruction book on how to care/buy/own a horse, I enjoy those too. :)

7: If given the chance, who is the one Bible character (besides Jesus) you’d want to meet?
Hoo boy, that's a tough question. Probably it's a tie between any of the disciples and/or Paul.

8: You’re walking down the road and see a child being bullied. What do you do?
Pray to God and ask Him to give me courage to face the bully down.

9: If given the chance, who is the one fictional character (your books or books you’ve read) that you’d want to meet?
Probably any of the character's I made up that are myself in the books, or my various "heroes" of my stories. None of the bad guys though, they give me the shivers. Do the animals count as characters? Because, in that case, I'd definitely want to meet my "dream horse" Lightning.

10: You’ve been asked to perform a song/instrument at a huge arena with four thousand people attending. Would you go or would you hide?
I would. With fear and trembling I'm sure, but I'd hate to disappoint them all by hiding! ;P Hopefully I would have an awesome piece prepared that would stun and amaze them all. ;)

11: Without warning, you’re thrown back in time to a different era, where Christians are being persecuted. Would you try to find a way back home, help them first and then try to find a way home, or accept your fate and decide to live among them and help them?
Help them first, then get back home. :)

Here's my 11 questions that I came up with!:

1: Who is the most influential person in your life? (Outside of family: parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.)
2: What's your favorite animal?
3: What is your favorite mythical creature?
4: Who is your favorite Bible character? (Other than Jesus)
5: What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
6: Which school subject is/was your favorite?
7: Which school subject is/was a challenge for you?
8: Have you written a book? If so, what was it about?
9: Which time period is your favorite to study?
10: If you did get a job, what would it be?
11: If you were stuck on a mountain for a night, but knew that help was coming the next day, what would you do first?

And last, but not least, here are who I chose to nominate:

Rebekah of Rebekah's Reading Room
Madison of Once Lost, Now Found
Sarah & Margaret Eddy of Where Are You Reading?
Bethany of Bethany's Blog
Jesseca of Whimsical Writings/A Kansas Wind
Andrew Eddy of Sola Scriptura
Carl Gray of Carl Gray's Journal

That was all I could come up with...oh well.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this post! Hopefully I'll be back with another one soon! ;)

Happy Easter!

Praise the Lord, He is risen, just as He said! Sometimes I just get so excited and joyful over what Jesus did for me! I love my Savior so, so, SO much!
This Easter, as you walk through stores filled to overflowing with chocolate bunnies and plastic, candy-filled eggs, remember what Easter is REALLY about.
I wrote this poem a couple weeks ago, after reading all the gospels, one after another, in my Bible reading for the year. I was feeling a little overwhelmed with how great His sacrifice and love for us was. So I captured my thoughts and wrote them down in verse. Hope you enjoy the following poem, celebrating how free we are in Christ:

What Easter is REALLY About
The crowds gather as He’s nailed to the cross,
But all He sees is how much they are lost.
On that cross He’s covered by my sin,
And Satan’s certain that he will win.
With one last sigh He bows His head to pray,
“Father please forgive them all that they say.”
Clouds roll in, and cover up the skies.
The whole creation trembles as He dies.
But three days later the stone is rolled away,
As promised, Jesus raises from the grave!
Praise and honor Lord I give to You,
Salvation is earned by nothing that I do.
Because Your Son took away my sin,
Your perfect heaven I can enter in.
So I will sing of what You’ve done for me,
Your precious Son died to make me free.
