July 4th

This has been a depressing year to say the least in our country's government. The decisions they have made, the things that they chose to vote into existence have been downright wrong.
But please, don't give up on our land. Keep praying for our President, and all the persons in the Supreme Court. The devil will try to use them, but in the end, God wins. He is still in control, no matter what it seems.
It's been hard for me to see our country going down hill so fast. Things have been happening that I never dreamed would happen. Things that to me is obvious sinful behavior has been slipped into our society as acceptable. And I know I'm not the only one.
I have had to pray and put my faith in God. I trust Him, but it is still a temptation to think: Why are You letting this happen God? How can we Christians fight darkness if darkness is lawfully acceptable?
So far, being a Christian in America is easy. We go to church publicly, have freedom of speech, freedom of press, and freedom to worship God any way we choose.
Maybe this is God's way of testing our true love for Him. When Christianity is no longer easy, we'll know who all are true Christians and who all aren't. This is a time during which our faith in God can be made stronger than it ever has been, or a time where our faith will crack under the strain and remain broken.
So please, pray, read your Bible, and trust in God. He knows what's going on in our lives. He was the one who decided that the Supreme Court would vote on those issues, He put our President in his office. I know He is, was, and always will be in control. Let's thank Him for it more often.
And remember:

  2. THANK YOU for doing this post. I am so grateful you did this. I have been burdened all week about the issue that was voted in last Friday. I have worked around and know people who are living that lifestyle. I love them dearly, but it breaks my heart to see the sin they're in, and now the government has made it acceptable to live in that sin. I have been struggling all week with my depression over it and I almost didn't want to celebrate the Fourth today. I did, thanks to a wonderful friend who invited me to go and see the fireworks with her. I have been encouraged to remember that God knows what He's doing. The Supreme Court, the Government, the President- NONE of them can change what is true. They can call something truth, but fact is, truth is truth and you can't change it, no matter what. God wrote his truths on our heart.

So we can celebrate what our Country was, and celebrate who we belong to- Christ. That's what I celebrated today. :)

God Bless and thanks for this post! It encouraged me a lot! Now, time to head off to bed! (Twelve minutes away from midnight) ;)

  5. Thanks for the post, Rebekah!
After the Supreme Court's decision, I was. . .having a hard time to say the least. I randomly opened my Bible because I wasn't sure exactly where/what to read. It opened to Proverbs chapter 21. The first verse in the chapter is "The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will." That was so encouraging! To know that our President, Justices, senators, representatives and mayors are all in God's hands! He controls what they do and they are powerless to stand against Him!
