Finally I'm going to post the next photo contest! However, this time I'm going to do something a little different. I'm going to give you a picture, like usual, but this time instead of giving you a word as well and having you send pictures...I'm going to have you find a WORD that best matches my picture.
The word you choose can be anything found in a dictionary...(I'll look them all up to see their definitions)...and you don't have to e-mail them.
Just post your word anytime this week in a comment (only one word from each person, don't "steal" words from others please).
I'll be doing the judging (choosing my top favorite four words) on Friday and then posting the winners on Saturday or Sunday.
This might not work quite as slick as having you send pictures that match a word...but I thought it would be worth a try. ;)
Ok. Here's the picture:
What word do you think describes it best? Have fun!
I thought this would make our contest a little more interesting, but don't worry, I'll be going back to the regular photo contest next time. I'll only do this weird version of it once-in-a-while. :)
Splendor!
ReplyDeleteOk, I think that I like the other way best. But my word for this picture is: heavenly
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, the next contest will be back to normal. :) Thanks for entering anyways!
DeleteOf course! (I didn't realize you had two blogs!)
DeleteNow you do! :) I hope you'll check out my other blog and read some of my stories...I'm always open to more advice on them!
DeleteSuper! I guess I have a TON of catching up to do on your other blog! We should email stories back and forth and get each others suggestions, etc.
DeleteOh awesome! That would be great! Do you want to start? I know you have my e-mail... thanks to the contest. ;)
DeleteGlory.
ReplyDeleteOooh, a contest about photography AND words, two of my favorite things combined!
ReplyDeleteMy first thought when I saw this lovely picture was one of my favorite words, which I rarely get to use:
Coruscate.
Of course that isn't very poetic or insightful, just the word I would use to describe the scene. By the way this is a beautiful photo, my kind of scene. Are you the photographer?
Yes. Cool word by the way...I might pop it into a conversation sometime and watch the eyes widen... :P
DeleteBeaming :)
ReplyDeleteHere's mine!
ReplyDeleteAtaraxia:a state of freedom from emotional disturbance and anxiety; tranquility.
Wow! Awesome words everybody! I'll post winners sometimes this weekend. :) (it's gonna be hard... :P)
