Guys, I'm here to present you with a conundrum. (Man, I love that word...) I've been fiddling around with a couple covers for my collection of poetry, which coincidentally I'm hoping to publish at some point this spring. HOWEVER. I have created three covers for it and found myself loving EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. OF. THEM. THE. EXACT. SAME. AMOUNT. So, to keep a long post short, I need your help. All of you are readers, most of you are authors. Which of these covers would you be most likely to buy, and which one would you prefer having your own work encased in? I'll put a poll on the side of my blog, and if you pity me AT ALL, please vote on your favorite cover, or comment below (or do both ;). I really appreciate any input you give me! Thanks for your amazing support and advice. I knew I could count on you!!
COVER #1: (a.k.a "The Typewriter")
COVER #2: (a.k.a "The Teacup")
COVER #3: (a.k.a "The Teenager")
Until next time, let everything you do be done for the glory of God!
The reason I wouldn't choose the top one is because it's not clear what the book is about. ;)
ReplyDeleteThe second one is interesting and says it's a collection of poetry.
But to me, the third one seems more interesting with the picture, the little description–it just all sort of pulls at me.
Anyway, that's my two cents worth. Take 'em or leave 'em. ;)
Hmm...yes, good point. I may tweak that a little.
DeleteThanks for your two cents. ;) They were much appreciated. :)
I vote for the Teacup! I love its colors and font coordination. :)

*whispers* Me too. ;)
DeleteI think my favorite would be the third one; I totally agree with what Rebekah said in the above comment. ;)
ReplyDeleteNot enough information on the first cover seems to be a common complaint. I'll definitely be fixing that. ;)
DeleteI think the Teacup is my vote :D It just looks the most professional and home-y. <3
ReplyDeleteIt did seem the most poetic of them all. ;)
DeleteI like the second one the most, but the third one might also work!
ReplyDeleteYOU GUYS ARE NOT MAKING THIS ANY EASIER. XD
DeleteI vote for cover #2!
ReplyDeleteThough they are all very nice. :)
Thank you. #2 seems to be popular...hmm...
DeleteI really love option #2! It's so pretty and delicate. All of them would be a great decision though! XD
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly. ^_^ But yes, this is my issue. XD
DeleteI vote for option 3 :)
ReplyDeleteAaaaand the votes are even again. XD
DeleteAh all of these are so beautiful! I would have to say #2 is my favorite tho :P
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks! :)
DeleteI normally would buy a book that has #1's cover, but in this specific case I would absolutely go with #3. It's awesome and somehow opens the book up.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your vote! I appreciate the extra thoughts too, it helps me so much! :)
DeleteSo, as mentioned before, #1 doesn't give much of a hint of what's inside the book. I would choose #2, because that's the kind of cover I would think of as more fitting for poetry.
ReplyDeleteHOWEVER. I think it really depends on what KIND of poetry that will be in the book. Like, for cover 2, I would see that as having more calm, thought-provoking poetry (such as the title implies). With cover 3, I see that as thought-provoking as well, but more in an adventurous way.
And if any of that even made any sense at all, I shall be happy. XD
Yes, it totally makes sense. You explained my problem very well...because, well, there's BOTH types of poetry in this collection. Both thought-provoking AND adventurous. So now you know why the choice was so hard. XD Thanks for expounding on your vote choice though, very helpful! :)
