What are we waiting for!! Ready??
*drum roll*
5: "The Grinch that Stole Christmas" (the old, cartoon version)
I know, an odd movie to top out as a favorite...but it IS a good movie considering the message behind it: Lights, trees, and presents don't make Christmas. Joy, love, and the knowledge that God sent His Son does that. The other stuff is like frosting on a cake. Yummy, but not really necessary...in fact, it's really just extra calories.
4: "Buck Denver asks... 'Why Do We Call it Christmas?'"
Famed creator of Veggie Tales, Phil Visher, gives the answers to kids' FAQ about Christmas. "What does Santa Clause have to do with baby Jesus?" "What's Hanukkah?" "Why do we give gifts on Christmas?" and many more! See Christmas and all its traditions in a new light...and the best thing about this video? It's perfectly fine (and enjoyable I might add) for the whole family! Parents, teens, and kids alike will laugh and learn.
3: "The Shop Around the Corner"
This movie...is awesome. Granted, having Jimmy Stuart acting as the main character is a huge plus because he really is great at what he does, but that's not the only reason I like it. It's also a funny, uplifting, interesting, and unique story of the lives of the manager and employees in a certain shop during the holidays.
2: "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe"
Ok, so maybe it's not strictly a CHRISTMAS movie...but it totally counts. Can I hear an AMEN? (Or a "preach it" from you-know-who... B-)
And my NUMBER ONE favorite Christmas movie:
"It's a Wonderful Life"
Who doubted that this would be it? I mean, honestly! Not only is it a fantastic movie with great actors/actresses, but the message is amazing, and it's fun to watch as well as thought provoking.
Alrighty...now it's your turn. What are YOUR top 5 favorite movies...if you can nail down five. ;) Have you watched, or not watched, any of the above? (If you haven't, go watch them. *shoos*) Hope you have a great day, and see you tomorrow! :D
(THREE DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS FOLKS!!!!)
Wow I've seen three of those movies. How the grinch stole Christmas, it's a wonderful life, and the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe. All great movies!! I'll have to check out the other ones for sure!
ReplyDeleteYes, yes!! *shoves you towards the nearest library* ;)
DeleteChristmas movies are just so fun to watch around Christmas time! :) These type of posts are also super fun to read, and great ways to get recommendations. ;)
ReplyDeleteI have seen "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (last night for the first time actually), "Why Do We Call it Christmas", "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe", and "It's a Wonderful Life".
Oh, absolutely! As I mentioned in a comment on Ashley's bog, I think my good Christmas movies list has tripled in length since the beginning of this link up. :) Which is absolutely awesome!! ^_^
DeleteI was going to add "It's a Wonderful Life" to my lists on my blog, but decided that everyone else was probably going to, so I picked different ones. :) But it's a favorite. And I've seen "Shop Around the Corner." Fun. :)
ReplyDeleteWe have a whole collection of Christmas movies that's we've found and enjoyed over the years so it's hard to choose favorites. And one of my favorites isn't in DVD which is really sad because it's such a good story! It's called "The Little Match Girl" and no, it's not the ones you might find on DVD. It's this one https://www.amazon.com/Little-Match-Keshia-Knight-Pulliam/dp/6303625835/ref=sr_1_2?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1482421122&sr=1-2&keywords=the+little+match+girl
Yeah, I kinda figured everyone would pick it too...but it IS my absolute favorite Christmas movie, so it had to be in its proper place in my top five Christmas movies. ;)
DeleteOh, I LOVE that story!! Never seen a movie of it...so I'll definitely have to check it out! Thanks for the link! :)
Yes! Someone else who loves Shop Around the Corner!! :D
ReplyDeleteMy top five favorites? Hmm...
Scrooge, (a musical version of A Christmas Carol)
It's a Wonderful Life, (how can someone NOT like this?) ;)
The Muppets Christmas Carol,
White Christmas,
And....um....Oh! Veggietales' The Star of Christmas. :)
Only three days till Christmas?? Yipe!! O.o
Yay!!! Yes, it's such an awesome movie. *hugs it* <3
DeleteChristmas Shoes, Christmas Shoes, Christmas Shoes My absolute favourite EVER. There's like, no question a'tall. ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd yesss....The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe - definitely counts as a Christmas movie! Very much so a favourite of mine! It's a Wonderful Life is really good too, but I haven't seen it in YEARS. Really got to re-watch it! Have you seen the Studio C version of it? ;)
Annnnnnd another movie to add to my Christmas movie list. XD
DeleteOf course! I think I've watched ALL Studio C videos. Although, there are probably some I've missed so don't quote me on that. ;)
The Grinch is a favorite in our house! :D We joke sometimes that my dad is the Grinch ;P
ReplyDeleteHaha that's awesome! XD
DeleteTHE GRINCH. =D Awesome!
ReplyDeleteThis family's favorite Christmas movie is Christmas Vacation! =D And then Elf as second... ;D
Merry Christmas, Rebekah!
Yes! :) Oh, I think I've heard of those two...though I don't think I've watched them. I'll add them to my growing list of Christmas movies. ;)
DeleteAn early Merry Christmas to you, too! :D
NARNIAAAAAAA. Yes it counts. Father Christmas is in it! :P
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid that's the only one I've seen out of these. We only really have one Christmas movie in my family, the Lion and the Lamb, and since it's on VHS and our player broke, I haven't seen it in years.
AMEN SISTAH!! ;)
DeleteWell what are you waiting for?? Go watch the other ones!! ;P
Amen. No question, the lion the witch and the wardrobe definitely counts. ;D
ReplyDeleteOooooh yes! :) Absolutely!!
Delete*whispers* The only movie I've seen here is Its a Wonderful Life... BUT! I do love that dearly. And I really wanna see The Shop Around the Corner!! :D
ReplyDeleteFOR NARNIA AND FOR ASLAN! *please pardon*
